Did Christmas really come and go so fast? We had a wonderful trip to Louisiana for the holidays. The boys did great with the traveling on the airplane, and in the car going from place to place. My mom "Roonie" and her husband "PawPaw" really made us feel welcome as we came and somewhat "took over" the house for 2 weeks.
We traveled to see my grandmama for a few days and have a Christmas celebration with all of my dads family. Wyatt was able to meet his extended aunts and uncles and cousins. Will spent some quality time with Pop looking at tractors and Bill got to go deer hunting. I was just happy to be with my Grandmama and watch her enjoy being with the boys. One of the highlights of being at my grandmamas is the food, she is the best cook ever and loves to feed everyone that enters her home. She worked so hard to make our gathering very special.
My Aunt Deanna made the long trip from San Antonio to Shreveport with her children Ryan and Morgen. It had been 2 years since we had last seen them. We did miss seeing Marshall (her oldest son ) and Joe (Deanna's husband Joe has been serving overseas in the Airforce for a few years now and will be coming home for good in February Yeah!!!) It was so good to be with them and see how much Ryan and Morgen have grown up.
Another highlight of our trip was going to Tyler, TX to see the Jones family. What a treat to be with our very dear friends and to watch our children playing together. Lindsey and Caleb are very sweet and did a great job sharing their toys with Will, he was in heaven because they had lots of Thomas Trains.
Bill decided to extend his vacation from work and stay with us in Shreveport for the rest of our trip, which was so wonderful to have daddy all to ourselves for another week and I did not have to fly home with the boys by myself. Will did so great on our trip, Bill taught him to count to 100 and spell his name. He LOVED playing Pee-Pie with Roonie and PawPaw. Roonie also taught him how to do the Church and Steeple rhyme with his hands. His speech has just increased so much we are very thankful to our Lord Jesus for answering our prayers.
Now it is 2008 and we are back in the swing of things here. We are very thankful for safe travels and our dear friends and family that we had the opportunity to see.
