Grandmamas Visit

We were so happy to have Grandmama here for a few days this week. She and Uncle Bill drove in from Louisiana for a short (way to short) visit. They arrived on Wednesday evening after the boys were already in bed so first thing Thursday morning when she heard Wyatt stirring she went to get him out of bed, and said he was just staring at her trying to figure out who had him. It did not take long for him to warm up to her though and he quickly started reaching out his arms for her. While she was here Wyatt said his 1st word "dog" in fact he said it twice, we were so excited and I am so glad she was here to share it with me.

Will was excited to see Grandmama too, they have been talking on the phone a lot the past few weeks so he knew she was coming to see him. He showed her his trains and how he rides on his tricycle now.

I always love going to Grandmama's house she is a wonderful hostess but it is so nice to have her here in my home, I can take care of the meals and she is able to spend quality time with the boys. I am really glad they are getting to know her because she is a very special lady who means the world to me. I hope we get to see her again soon.

Happy Easter

Spring is in the air and our Lord is Risen. We had a wonderful Easter weekend. On Saturday I took Will up to the church where he attends school for an Easter craft and Egg hunt then we came home and baked a bunny cake. I did most of the cake and Will put the coconut and sprinkles on top. The next morning when the boys got up they were excited to see their Easter baskets waiting for them on the kitchen table. I should correct that statement, Will was excited about the basket when he realized there were some cars inside, I guess he was over the eggs at this point... What he didn't know was that those were the same cars that were in his Easter basket last year...so yes I admit it....I recycle Easter basket goodies, not the candy though. So there will be no surprises as to what will be in Wyatts basket next year. After church we met Pop and Ms. Tara up at Tesoro for brunch, the food was soooo good. The Easter bunny joined us for lunch and then Will got to participate in another egg hunt. It was a very special day.

Easter Eggs

Thursday was an exciting night at the Bliss house because Pop and Ms. Tara came over to dye easter eggs with Will. While I was very excited Will was going to be having fun with eggs and dye I was even more excited to get out of the house for a date with Bill. Everyone had a blast. WE LOVE YOU POP & MS. TARA

Wyatt

It is so hard for me to believe my baby is 8 months old..almost 9 months old. He has 6 teeth, is eating cheerios and just last week started pulling up to stand. I am still getting used to the idea that he is crawling..."speed crawling" , it takes him no time to get from point A to point B. Gone are the days I can put him down and expect him to be in the same spot when I return. Bill put a gate on the door to his bedroom so that he has a safe confined space to enjoy when I need to get something done without him on my hip or at my feet. My baby is slowly growing into a big boy just like Will did, it seems like Wyatt is getting there quicker. He brings us so much joy and we feel so blessed that God has allowed us to be his parents.

POP

We are so blessed to have my dad "Pop" live close to us. As I was recently blogging about the grandmothers visits I wanted to make sure and mention Pop too. He has been so great about stopping in after the boys are up from their nap and ready to go outside and run around. He makes that part of the day much easier for me because I am usually trying to get dinner ready. Will has been asking to "go see Pop" and to "call Pop" a lot more frequently too, so I make sure to call and let him know he is being requested. I hope that it makes him happy to know how much his grandson enjoys being with him. I had a wonderful grandfather growing up, my "Papaw" really made an effort to spend time with me and I have such fond memories of being with him. I am very glad that my boys are getting to make special memories with their Pop. Bill and I are enjoying some date nights thanks to him too. We love you Pop.

Our New Neighbors

I wanted to share some Florida wildlife with my blog readers. In our neighborhood we have some new baby Sandhill Cranes and they happened to be in our yard one day this week so I was able to get a few pics. My knowledge about the Cranes is very limited but what I do know is that they mate for life and they are very territorial. You know right away if you are getting to close because they get very loud and start spreading there wings and kicking their legs....almost as if they are doing the "chicken dance" at a wedding. I keep my distance especially when I have the boys with me. I was surprised that they let me get as close as I did to get the pictures. Will has started asking to see the baby birds when we drive into the neighborhood so I usually drive around until we find them.

February 2008

February was such a big month for us and has been so busy that I am just now getting around to writing about it. The beginning of the month started with a visit from Roonie. She flew into Orlando and rented a car to drive down to us. My mom is one of the sweetest, creative people I know but bless her heart she has the worst sense of direction of anyone I know. Thank goodness for Garmin it was created for people like my mom. And thanks to Garmin she made it down safely and without any wrong turns. During her visit we took the boys to the Palm Beach Zoo one day and had a lot of fun getting to see all the animals. Will's favorite thing was feeding the goat. We packed a lunch and had a picnic there, the weather was perfect.

It was so sad to see Roonie leave but we are looking forward to her next visit in April. Since she flew out of Orlando, Wyatt and I drove her to the airport and made a stop to see my friend Mindy and her little boy Tyler. It is not often that we both only have one child with us so we really enjoyed getting to visit and watch the little boys play together. Wyatt had a lot of fun with Tyler.

Bill's mom "Babi" came for a visit a few days after my mom left. We had such a great time with her. The boys have so much fun with her and I enjoy the help she gives me. Bill and I were even able to go see a movie while she was in town. I think it was the 1st movie we had been to see since before Wyatt was born.We were so glad she was able to fit a trip in to Florida and look
forward to seeing her again.
